Double-decker train service in between Hyderabad and Guntur begins in style

Passengers in between Guntur and Hyderabad  can now travel  in the comfort of air-conditioned luxury coaches in the newly introduced double decker superfast express train.
The bi-weekly train (No. 22117) starts from Guntur at 12.45 p.m. every Tuesday and Friday and reaches Kachiguda at 5.55 p.m.
Besides the cushy luxury seats with ample legroom, passengers can relish a spread of their favourite dishes and work on their laptops on the pads provided for each seat.
But the USP of the coaches is the upper decks from which passengers can have a nice view of various landscapes as the train passes through.
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager of Guntur, C. Ramakrishna said that the double deck would have 120 seats in lower and upper decks. The fare for each ticket is Rs. 415 and it is Rs. 520 per seat in Tatkal reservation.
The train has just four stops — Piduguralla (1.45 p.m.), Miryalguda (2.35 p.m.), Nalgonda (3 p.m.) and Malkajgiri (5.40 p.m.) — before reaching Kachiguda at 5.55 p.m.
The train would start from Kachiguda on every Tuesday and Friday at 5.30 a.m. and would reach Guntur at 10.40 a.m.
Mr. Ramakrishna said that the new train has been provided with the latest safety features, including a unique VESDA system (Very Early Smoke/Fire Detection with Alarm System). VESDA is being introduced in a double-decker train for the first time in Indian Railways.
